“Into the Clouds – My Peaceful Escape to Kurangani Hills from Theni”
"Okay, let me tell you about one of the most beautiful, untouched places I’ve ever visited — Karangani Hills, also known as Karandamalai. If you’re from around Theni and you’ve never been, this is your sign. Pack a bag and go. It’s wild, it's peaceful, and it’s so, so worth the ride.
As we drove up, everything changed — from the heat of the plains to the cool, crisp air of the highlands. The road to Karangani is just stunning. You’re surrounded by dense green forests, misty hilltops, and the occasional sound of birds you won’t hear anywhere else. It’s the kind of place where even your thoughts slow down.
Now, here’s the thing — Karangani isn’t commercial or touristy. And that’s exactly why it’s special. You don’t go there for shops or attractions. You go for the silence, the fresh mountain air, and the feeling of being completely disconnected from the noise of the world.
Once I reached the top, it was just endless green. Hills rolling into more hills. Clouds drifting low like they wanted to touch the trees. You can walk around, find a quiet rock, sit down, and just breathe. I honestly didn’t want to come back down.
There’s not much in terms of food or shops, so definitely carry your own snacks and water. And wear good shoes — you’ll want to wander around a bit once you’re up there.
